2022 LAC clash with China: Pentagon provided real-time intel to India?
The White House declined to confirm a news report stating that the United States provided valuable intelligence to the Indian military last year, which assisted in successfully countering Chinese “incursions”. John Kirby, the National Security Council coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House, responded to reporters at a daily press conference, stating, “No, I cannot confirm that.”
According to an exclusive report by US News, India managed to repel a Chinese military incursion in the border territory of the high Himalayas late last year due to unprecedented intelligence-sharing with the US military. This action caught the Chinese People’s Liberation Army by surprise, angering Beijing and compelling the Chinese Communist Party to reconsider its approach to land seizures along its borders.
“The US government, for the first time, provided in real-time the Chinese positions and force strength to its Indian counterparts prior to a PLA incursion,” mentioned a source familiar with an unreported US intelligence review of the confrontation in the Arunachal Pradesh region, as reported by the daily.
The report stated, “The information included satellite imagery that could be put into action, and it was more detailed and promptly delivered compared to anything shared by the US with the Indian military in the past.”
An unnamed source quoted by the daily stated, “They were ready because the US had provided India with everything it needed to be fully prepared for this. It exemplifies the successful collaboration and intelligence-sharing between the two militaries.”
